The reason we spend 1 of 5 minutes of our time online on social platforms will surprise you. Why do we pass so much time talking about ourselves? PsychologyDegree.net compiled a fascinating infographic examining the psychology of Social Networking and posed the interesting question: Are we obsessed with Social Media or are we obsessed with ourselves?
What are your thoughts? Why do you spend time on Facebook and Twitter?

Very interesting! I talk about myself on Facebook but I hardly ever talk about myself on Twiiter. On Facebook I don’t share overly much. I’ve read those lists of things never to share on Facebook and I never post pictures of my dinner or say inane things like “I can’t believe that just happened…” More often than not I’m commenting on other peoples’ status’ and paying attention to them.
On Twitter it seems much more business like. People who babble almost incoherently on Twitter don’t have many followers. People present a very put-together image and I often wonder about their real lives and what struggles and pain they might be going through. I’ll say that my marriage is falling apart on Facebook and on Twitter I’ll post an article like “7 ways to tell that your marriage is falling apart”.
Thanks Tina.
