It is interesting. Just today, I dropped the term "Facebook fan page" in my introduction to "Facebook page". Facebook continues to evolve and change. Keeps it interesting.

If it makes it easier for people to use my page that's great. If it draws people into a position of being a 'fan' even though they thought they just 'like'd my post then that seems a little sneaky.

I see this going 2 ways for those wanting/counting the numbers: great as there are 2 lots of numbers to follow, or not so great if being a fan is perceived as more impressive/important as just liking; as people may only 'like' a post and not jump into a situation of being a 'fan'. (If I've understood this new 'improved experience'.)

To me it's about engagement so if someone fans me or likes me that's great; that's an indicator they've taken something from one of my posts and could lead to a fuller richer engagement.
